[RC] Tattersalls Auction - barbara marcius

    Hello Folks!
Wanted to let you guys know that on Friday November 8th and Saturday November 9th that there is going to be a HUGE auction of nothing but Arabian and 1/2 Arabian horses in Lexington, Ky. There are 346 horses consigned as of today. What a goldmine!  While normally I wouldn't consider an auction as a viable venue to buy a horse, after attending this one for the past 4 yrs and having such positive experiences both in buying AND selling, I feel duty bound to share this with you. Oh yes, and here's the disclaimer. No, I DON'T work for the auction company, and no, I don't get any special anything for telling you guys about it. But being an endurance/competitive person myself, I've never seen such a tremendous opportunity to study a zillion horses at my leisure, and be able to really talk to their owners. There is everything from weanlings to aged broodmares that are still producing babies. Tons of riding horses and yes, lots of showhorses that maybe aren't happy in the ring? Perhaps would turn out to be terrific trailhorses?
I have been amazed at the bargains there are for really nice horses, (LOTS of sweepstakes )-- and the honesty of this auction company. Had an "incident" last year where my husband caught the OWNER of the horse I was bidding on bidding his own horse up. The auctioneer, Bill Addis, had the INTEGRITY to berate this individual and to forbid him to ever buy or sell at one of his auctions again. I was pretty darn floored, because we all know that not many auctions have that kind of morals. (and no, i didn't buy that horse!!!!) .
Anyway guys, I know how it is to not have tons of money, and have the desire to buy a new horse. I cannot fathom a better way to find one. If you can be anywhere near there, I feel it's well worth the time to take a look. Heck, it's fun to go just to look at so many! This is more than  double the amount of horses at their previous auctions, and no doubt there'll be some great deals. The smartest thing to do is get there early and walk and talk and observe.
If you want to contact me personally via email, I'll share all I can . Or you're welcome to call and request a catalog, which is really quite in depth with bloodlines and horse history to 405-330-5464. These people run a class operation, and I'd sure like to see a nice turnout of buyers for them. That's a lot of horses to sell! Their website has a partial list-- about 200+ but it's not in depth like the catalog. Their website is www.addisequineauctions.com. It's so cool to have the opportunity to choose from so many. However, and here's another disclaimer. Since I was nice enough to tell you guys about this sale, you can't bid against me!!!! Just kidding. Best of luck to all of you. Would love to hear some happy stories as a result of this.
