    [RC] Newbie - Sandy Smith

Just thought I'd stop lurking for a moment and ask some advice. I started riding horses (dressage/hunter seat) though riding lessons. I am at the point where I have a fairly balanced and independent seat on the walk and trot...not so good with the canter. I know I need to continue lessons until I am a consummate canterer. But, I thought I'd better get some advice just to keep my goals in sight and realistic at the same time. I'd love to get into Endurance and CTR, but I have a major problem...I don't own a horse. How does someone like me break into this wonderful sport? I am continuing lessons (weekly), but I need to know if it is possible to locate a mentor who happens to have an extra horse for lease or in need of someone else to ride them to keep them in training. Any ideas?

BTW...I LOVE RideCamp! You learn so much by "listening."
