Subject: [RC] Cross Country Move For An
  Elderly Horse

  Hi Ridecampers:
I need some advice someone off-topic,
but if anyone will know, this group will.  I have a friend with an
elderly, but still alive and kicking 30 something gelding.  Her
significant other has got himself a job in San Diego, CA and will have to
move this gelding from Boston, MA to San Diego.   She is very
concerned that he will arrive dead, or die shortly after such a long
trip.  He does have Cushing's, but a very mild cas and has almost no
   symptoms since being treated.
He hates getting on the trailer, but
trailers well once on. He will eat on the trailer as well.  Any
suggestions about this kind of move on such an old guy?
  Thanks,
  Carolyn
  Burgess
