<sigh> Change just for the sake of change is not necessarily good. Change
is good when it is the right change.
"These people" need not repeat all the work--it is a simple matter to fix
the problems in the bylaws changes, and not a matter of reinventing the
wheel. The concept that "if you don't vote yes, we will pick up our toys
and go home" is tantamount to blackmail, pure and simple. We appreciate
their hard work, and those of us voting no have made it clear why.
As to "pass them now and make amendments later"--gee, I'm sure there are
Congressmen who would like to get you to believe that line. No, better to
have them as right as we can make them first. We aren't apt to get the
chance to have a ballot on a few minor changes, unless the big changes are
still in need of being passed.
