Well, you're right, I figured wrong. But I'm going to add to your bad news.
they say no pro-rating of dues, but I joined at about this time in 2000 or
2001 (can't remember which) and my dues were pro-rated to $35.
One of the reasons I joined was so every measely little mile I might acquire
would be counted and somehow I had this knowledge in advance of trying an
AERC ride. I wish someone would confirm or deny the "buy-back" amount. I
agree that $50 seems a bit much.
