[RC] Friends Riding Problem - Carolyn Burgess
Your friends significant other sounds just like my girl friend. When you
first posted, I said to myself, "sounds like Audrey", but then you said guy,
and I just didn't know if it was the same issue. My girl fiends problem is
two fold: food allergies and stress. The stress gets her to a certain point
and the food allergies push her over the top. She would always feel like
she had to pee and there was almost always a burning sensation. Riding made
it worse. She has a problem with sulfites and sodium lauryl sulfate.
Sulfites are in wines, and many prepared foods, even salad bars and such.
Sodium lauryl sulfate is in everything: soap, shampoo, dish detergent,
laundry detergent. It is a known trigger for contact dermititis as well.
My girl friend had a very hard time finding a doctor to help her with this
and she did alot of this on her own. She is also a rider and really worked
to find out what her allergies were and how to find alternatives to the
items and food that contained these allergens. Good luck,
