Re: [RC] Nick Warhol- Virginia City100 Ride Story- part 4 of 4 - Barbara McCrary

It's not that hard to fall asleep on a 100 mile ride. I've done it twice on
Tevis. On one occasion, while crossing the American River at about 3:00 AM,
I remember hearing a voice 'way off in the distance and a voice closer
answering. The distant voice was that of Barbara White, with whom I was
riding at that point, and the closer one way my own answering her. I was
shocked that I had fallen asleep and that I could talk while being asleep.
Barbara said not to be concerned; she had fallen asleep once and was
hallucinating, "seeing little green men in the trees".
The four year old was Cliffy Lewis, Tom's son and Cliff's grandson; he was
riding Spiderman, who was the horse I think Tom rode and finished VC when HE
was 5 years old. Amazing family........amazing history......amazing horse.
