My personal favorites are, of course, my very
favorite -- John Denver. Anything of his will do. I try not to sing with
others around. My mare doesn't seem to mind my singing, but I'm not sure
about the "endurance" of people I might ride with.
My other favorite is "How Great Thou Art."
Not being a particularly "religeous" person, somehow when I get out on the trail
early in the morning, that song just comes to me. Perhaps my church is
truely on the back of my horse riding down the Rape Gap trail up on Pigeon
Mountain. I always get teary-eyed.
"When through the woods and forest glades I
wander
and hear the birds sing sweetly in the
trees
When I look down from lofty mountains
grandeur
and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze. . .
"
OH! I also really like to sing Dwight
Yokum.
