[RC] Hauling with a short box. - Roy Drinnan
I have hauled four different goosenecks for the past several years with many
different trucks. (I keep my trucks an average of a year and a half).
I prefer a short box for hauling, but have moved to a full size for crewing.
Anyone who can drive should never hit the truck on the trailer. It takes a
bit of inattention to to it. I also always go with a 100 gal taknk between
the cab and the hitch.
I cannot turn ninty degrees with this setup, but I have never been unable to
put the trailer where i want, and have never hit the cab with the trailer,
although with one trailer that extended 1 ft toward the truck in front of
the gooseneck pipe, I did hit the tank in a gas station, but that was
becuase I didn't pay attention and I was in fowl mood over the layout of the
service station (and it was in an eight ft box).
I have plenty of friends who also do it, we all do it with GMC product, but
we do it.
