Lud and I used to sing Sweet Betsy From Pike
while riding over the snowy mountains from, or to, Lee's Flat on the old Death
Valley Encounter trail route. "Do you remember sweet Betsy from Pike,
crossed the wide mountains with her lover Ike, with three yoke of oxen and an
old yeller dog, a small Shanghai rooster and one spotted hog...."
