Our horse’s first job is working on the ranch;
their second job is doing endurance. It sure was a shock for the locals to
see us in our English saddles and endurance saddles cutting cows, but they
gotten used to it. What’s
more difficult for them is trying to understand why we ride Arabians. Naturally, when their horses are dog
tired, ours are still hunting more country. The Arabs love a job, and working cattle
is something that most of ours do well.
Of course we have one who is scared of cows, but he’s coming
around. Our daughters also use
their “endurance/ranch” horses in 4-H. Once again, the only Arabs in the show,
but OH do they show!
