Well if the Central Region is any indication, most of our rides this year
have been won by unsponsored juniors...15 year old girls...Brittany Dial,
Meghan Dunn, Cameron Holzer, Amber Burton, Khristen Seymore (actually
Khristen may be 16).
Movin On Up this weekend saw a total of 53 starters. Meghan, Cameron, and
Amber decided to tie for first! Khristen and Brittany were not there, but
knowing these girls, they would have made it a five way tie!
I am very proud of these young ladies. Poor Meghan's horse was lame at the
finish, and Amber almost missed standing for BC helping Meghan try to
message out a cramp before the hour was up.
I would put these girls up against anyone, not only in a "race", but in the
care they take of their horses.
As for energy, we were all very entertained when all of the kids went out in
the pond and played with their horses for over two hours after the ride!
This pond is very long but only about four feet deep. I wish you all could
have seen the race (and I mean gallop) they had in the water! I don't think
there was one of us who didn't wish we were out there playing with them!
Another fine memory made.
