[RC] Arab and Prospect Questions - Tamara Murray

    Hello (me again!),

Tonight I drove 4 hours to look at 2 mares as prospective endurance prospects.
They are both very nice and I would like some input from some of the more
experienced riders out there about which sounds like an overall better
prospect. They are both 'priced to sell' and are the same price.

Horse A) Beautiful, quiet and gentle 3 year old Arab mare. Stands about 15.1-
15.2 right now. The owner said she is the only female offspring of El Matraab.
I don't know if this is true or not but her pedigree doesn't mean much to me
(sorry!). She is VERY quiet. No formal work other than halter broke. They let
the herd out on fresh pasture and when the others took off at a gallop she hung
around the people. She is very people oriented. Lovely movement and looks
    smooth.

Bad points: she seems to have very small feet and bone (or maybe its just
because I ride a big beefy Arab x QH gelding). She also has a small splint. She
is sound but that still concerns me.

Horse B) Beautiful 5 year old 3/4 Arab 1/4 Saddlebred mare. Stands about 15.2
hh. Lovely movement and very smooth. Only halter broke. High spirited but loves
people. They've had some trouble loading her in the trailer the past. Owners
say she needs experienced rider. She has clean legs and big feet. No manners
though (always in your face when you are trying to look at other horses and
    very pushy).

I am an experienced rider but I haven't started a horse under saddle before.
I've done lots of halter breaking and ground work, but this horse would be my
first to start under saddle. I would consider taking it to a professional if I
felt I was 'in too deep'. I've been riding for about 10 years with experience
    in eventing, dressage and jumping.

Which do you think sounds like the better endurance prospect for me?

Thanks for your input (I can email pictures if anyone would like to help me
    further).

    THANKS SO MUCH!

    Tamara
