Thanks all, We do have an excellent relationship on the ground. When I am
traveling, my non-rider (but ultra marathoner) husband takes my horse with
him on training runs leading him the whole way :) Now I can't run like that
but I could just go along.
OTOH, if folks are jockeying for position, in the beginning, it might take
as much as 10 miles for my horse's brain to engage. In the CTR, as he is a
stallion, I can usually leave last and not try to catch anyone for 6 - 8
miles. Catching and passing is OK, Its being passed that becomes the
problem.
