Re: [RC] What is the ONE thing? - Tara Wheeler
What a great thread! Only one? :)
If I could do it all again, I'd go back and tell myself not to worry too
much about the weather.
As long as it was between 80 and 40 degrees, my horse and I could really and
truly deal with it.
And that rain is my friend. If it rains at the ride, the horses stay cooler
and the track is softer.
If it's been raining for several days, (depending on the trail and camp)
I'll pull and not go (I won't slog through nothing but mud) but I won't
spend days worrying that the weather won't be perfect.
I used to watch the weather channel for a week before the ride, worrying
that it would rain and spoil everything. Really made myself miserable.
If you're not used to riding in the rain, try it, you'll like it!
