Re: [RC] Question; re travel with hay. - Laney Humphrey
Hi Beth,
Some people do buy hay out of state in large quantities
for their horses; I've never heard of problems getting it through the ag
inspection since it's hauled by commercial haulers. I've just returned
from travelling all the way to Michigan with my horse. I had some
hay from Wisconsin on my trailer hay rack and wasn't even asked about it
when I said the horse had been in Utah for only about a week. Maybe
that's a lawyer-ly answer: true but not the whole truth! I've never
been asked about the hay I have with me but I do not that others have not
only been asked but made to discard the hay. I wish there was some
consistency so we wouldn't have to worry! Pellets might be easier
- the ones I feed at home (in CA) are certified "weed free."
Cheers, Laney

from other states...like maybe Colorado, or Texas or anywhere else..Canada
even and brought hay for their horses into the state of California.
