[RC] dressage saddle - Sundaez

My saddle fit saga continues....
Sunday I was at the local feed store and saw a used dressage for sale for
100.00. It is a Fels Bach, made in Switzerland. Figured it wouldn't hurt
to try it on Jenni. At NRR Alison (at least I think it was her) suggested a
dressage saddle to stay off Jenni's loin.
After having a hard time getting a pad that won't slip, and finding a girth
long enough, I took my first ride in it yesterday. We went about an hour and
a half, at trot and canter.
First thing I noticed was Jenni's HR was a lot lower. I guess I had riding
him in pain a long time.
The saddle seats me much more forward than the saddles I had been using. I
couldn't get much tolt but I guess I'll have to sacrifice that. It is much
easier to stay off his back in this saddle.
This morning his back looks good ('cept for those white hairs that continue
to glare at me and remind me what a shmoe I am). No heat, swelling or pain.
OTOH I am a wreck after riding in that saddle! Very sore!
Would like to hear from others who ride in a dressage saddle. If this one
works out I will get a better one eventually.
