good story! DJB BAB Razzmatazz had surgery on his splint bones in July of
1996. He competed (successfully) in the 1996 World Endurance Competition
only a couple of months later. He has since been to two Pan Ams, won
National Champ IAHA 100 Mi. twice '98 & '02, and is over 3,000 mi. I
think... look at his record. We used to always ice him during competition,
but since going barefoot two years ago, it seems like the increased
circulation takes care of any swelling, & we are not even doing that. I'm
sure there are those out there that have not been so lucky, but in our case,
it worked like a charm. I probably wudn't rush him back n 2 competition as
fast as we did, but he was committed for the Chili Team & they actually
finished 4th Team in the world in 1996.

Has anyone had a splint surgically removed on their horse and continued
doing endurance? I am just trying to find out what the layoff time is and
anything else you can tell me. Thanks.
