Debby,       Yes, that works very well.  That is one of the first things Buck had us work on in the colt starting class.  I guess that is why after working with my colt on trailer loading AND on having him walk by, that I was able to load him so nicely when leaving the clinic.       Probably the best thing I learned at the clinic as a whole was ground work, ground work, ground work.  Then if things aren't going well in the saddle, go back to ground work.     Becky R.       ----- Original Message ----- From: Debbyly@xxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, September 03, 2002 6:14 PM To: ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [RC] trailer loading    A good way to prepare for trailer loading is to practice on the ground nowhere near a trailer.  I have used Parelli Natural Horsemanship groundwork techniques especially the "squeeze" game, sending the horse between you and a fence, each time closer; sending the horse through narrow gates, backing the horse through gates.  Get the horse used to going where you send him on line before trying to load in a trailer.  Parelli has good videos including a trailer loading video.
