Ridecamp: RE: [RC] Smashed big toe

Yeah, that happened to me at the beginning of a three day dressage clinic. I
got on the horse and remember feeling my boot fill with blood. Couldn't get
my boot into the boot for the next two days so I rode with an old shoe and
stirrupless for the next two days.

It didn't take more than a couple of weeks before the pain was gone but took
forever for a new, weird looking toenail to grow in. Had to be creative with
footware for a couple of weeks!

My horse slammed her rear foot down on my toe on
sunday night and even though I had shoes on she took off
the whole toe nail and really squashed the toe.

Any of you had to deal with this kind of injury. how long
did it take to heal?

Any advice would be appreciated greatly.
