Re: [RC] Polar HRM battery replacement? - superpat

I think it depends on which model you have. The old models (which I prefer)
have separate electrodes and wires and receiver. They have replaceable
batteries. The new models (mine is a T51H) are all one cnnected unit and you
have to send the unit to Polar for pattery replacement. At least I think
they will replace it. The literature that came with it says that sometimes
the electrodes need cleaning. A lot of use could cause oxidation of the
electrodes. Wash them with soap and water and dry carefully. Then it advises
to have the battery checked by authorized Baumann & Haldi SA service
personell (a Polar Group company).Average battery life of the transmitter is
1000 hours. Battery replacement is recommended to be done by....yeah, Baum &
    etc.
You can go to their web site. It took some searching around but enter on
search engine "horse heart rate monitor or equine heart rate monitor" or try
calling (415) 924-7999 That is the number on the envelope containing my
replacement monitor.(another problem with it. The electrode wire broke and
cannot just be replaced separately. Needed a whole new unit. But they
    weregood about replacing it.
    Good luck..
    Pat

find the battery. Does anyone have a Polar transmitter that can help with
locating the battery? Or did it just die? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
