[RC] Offset knees - problem in a distance horse? - Kristi Schaaf

>From the AERC handbook, Chapter 3:
"Offset knees are fairly common in Arabs, but they
usually do not pose too great a problem, especially if
the condition is not extreme."
Hi all -
After months of searching, I've found a 5 yoa
greenbroke bnice distance prospect, but he's got an
offset left knee with a slightly turned out toe. It's
the only negative trait I can find on him, but it's
just niggling at me. I want him to LAST for miles and
miles. Anyone who is competing on a horse with offset
knees, give me some advice. Is all well? Any soundness
issues? My vet's going to look at him today, but I
think "real life" stories from distance riders are as
valuable as a prepurchase exam!
Thanks, Kristi
