[RC] Starving Arabians in Illinois Need Help - Suvut
Michelle Claussen from Essex, IL contacted me last night about a starving Arabian herd near Crescent City, IL. Michelle has already pulled two old mares(over 20)from the place. One of the mares is in foal. The Hooved Animal Humane Society was given the older mare that was in the worst shape. She is a walking skeleton. Michelle is keeping the one in foal. The owner of the herd called Michelle to see if she would take some more. Most of the herd has papers, and the young stock is supposedly registerable. There are a bunch of 2-3 year old colts. Many of the horses came from Salem Children's Home sales. I am not sure of the bloodlines on any of them. The man said he will sign over paperwork, and did on the two that Michelle took out. The Humane Society is watching the herd, but can't seize them as some attempt is being made to provide care at this point. One of the horses has already died on the property. Michelle hoping to get mor
e out of there, but she needs help. The owner is selling horses for $200 - 300 per horse, and wants her to take a bunch of them. If anyone can help her get them out and has room for a rescue project, please email me or contact her directly at (815)325-7307. The horses are extremely thin and need farrier and vet work. These horses need help ASAP.
Thanks for reading this.
