Our forefathers certainly did.  Our current state of mind is another matter.  
Quite obviously, we all need to be protected from ourselves.  From helmet and 
seatbelt laws, to anti-smoking ads, to lawsuits over the amount of fat in a 
Big Mac.  Big Brother is just looking out for the great unwashed masses.  
Tolerance of differing opinions and actions is a thing of the past.  Of 
course, we must be tolerant of THEIR beliefs.........  :o)
