HOW EXCITING!!To hear from a Tassie or Tazzie(??)
endurance rider!! Are there many endurance races in
Tasmania ? I spent 3 months in Austrailia last winter
. I loved every minute of it !! I met Stephannie
Dickie and got to observe a race in Hay NSW. It was
interesting the difference in rules. Mainly the "Gate
Into Hold " ie F.E.I.. Our hold time does not start
til we meet criteria, you have 30 min. to meet
criteria. Your criteria is lower ie 54,60 bpm compared
to ours 60-68 bpm.We do not have blue/yellow books
therefore we lack the ability to follow/monitor horses
careers as closely as you.Books do pose a large
problem for point to point rides and vet checks away
from basecamp. You have more rides that are loops thru
basecamp???Also, some of our rides are really remote
and there are long distances between checks.Riders are
expected to take responsibilty for their horse and
have stops as needed. Books would be difficult to
    co-ordinate.
Please give me your feedback on these differences.I
met so many people that raved about Tasmania. How
diverse and beautiful it is! I plan on visiting there
next time.I want to do the Cradle Mtn walk and some
sea kayaking. It would be really cool to correspond
    with a Tasmanian endurance rider!!!Jocelyn
