Subject: [RC] Where are all the Arabian track
horses???
"TB's are everywhere off the track so where are all
the Arabians off the track???? Are their any websites
for them? I have looked and not found any....I'm just
curious since Arabians are my favorite:) I have one
horse that is off the track but I bought him from
someone who had already trained him. THanks! Colleen"
I recently bought a 4 yoa Arab who is "race bred" but
has never seen a track (his full brother is currently
a successful race horse). My guy was considered a
little too stocky by the breeder as a 2 yoa, so he was
sold as a distance horse prospect. He had just begun
distance training before I bought him, so I got a
racehorse type without any of the racehorse wear and
tear. I'd made the mistake of stereotying racing type
Arabs as hot, but my guy is the most laid back Arab
I've ever seen. Maybe you might want to consider Arabs
who were bred for racing but never got to the track.
The breeder of my horse is Centurion Stud (in Iowa, of
all places). The website is www.centurionstud.com.
They don't have many (if any) horses for sale, but for
anyone seriously interested in Arab racehorses, they
may be able to provide you some leads. Kristi
