Re: [RC] Wolverine - Maggie Mieske
I want to thank Jeanie for her encouragement and kind comments. It was SOME
weekend! I learned a lot. I am having a hard time dealing with the fact
that a horse from my ride went home and had to be put down. I was so proud
that we never ONCE had to send the ambulance out to bring in a horse in
trouble. It's hard right now to keep remembering all the good and positive
things from my ride. I hope to write in soon and share all the good stuff
once I have sufficiently recovered. :) All I can say right now is that
endurance (and competitive) riders are the BEST people I have ever met in my
life. I passed up a family reunion to put on this ride but discovered I WAS
with family. I came away from this ride with the greatest appreciation of
this sport and its riders...I had so many friends and family helping, many
non-distance riders who simply came for ME and for the love of horses and
the opportunity to spend time with horse people. How terrific is THAT?
Anyway, I am still recovering and have so much more to share but it will
have to wait for now.
Thanks again, Jeanie. You are a true blue mentor and friend!!
Maggie
