[RC] Alfalfa hay - Rides 2 Far

I'll let somebody else comment about the protein, but watch out for the
calcium. The reason not to feed too much Alfalfa every day is that the
horse's body gets lazy about metabolizing calcium because there's always
an overabundance. So...if he gets alfalfa at home, make sure you*don't*
take it away before the ride. It would be sort of like telling your kid
to be careful about how he spends his money, but always keeping his
pockets full of cash...then sending him off on a trip with no money at
all. (weird analogy but I think it works). If I wanted my horse to
thump, that's how I'd try to get him to do it.
