Amanda, I still think your advice is good; I am hardly a
novice rider, got lots of miles, and still out there training young horses; this
ol' gal is still tough, but smarter. The riding partner I was referring to
has a horse that spooks and spins violently, she's a
good enough rider that she manages to stick, somehow. It is just not a
good idea to expose a young, green horse to that type of behavior. They
need to build confidence, and a spooky, older horse sets a bad example.
