Well if you consider that most housing without horse property and land is
even more than my place, this sounds cheap. So Cal is expensive, any way you
look at it. I moved out of a 1927 Spanish in Pasadena last year. 900sq feet
house, 9500 sq. foot lot. 2bed, 1 BA. Sold for 300K. Sick, huh?
250 for 1/2 acre, nice arena, four stall barn, 1800 sq. foot house sounded
pretty darn attractive.
It is expensive here. For where I am, the type of neighborhood-all the new
housing is luxury at 700 and up, and the trails, this was a bargain.
You have to consider that I probably make 15 dollars more per hour than my
job where you are pulls in. It all equals out in the end.
Look at the rides and riding alone out here, the weather (I have to miss
less than three weeks for weather related stuff this last year), the
location (beach=1 hour, skiing=30 minutes, LA 45 minutes, airport=10
minutes), I'll take SoCal anyday just for the no bug factor alone. There are
never any bugs, even for evening rides. Nice:)
