I can relate to your frustration when horse-hunting. I once spent over 2 hours to look at a horse that was advertized as being 16 hands. When I got there, I found a horse that was barely over 14.2. He had a huge belly which the dealer (he was a dealer) claimed 'is just worms - it'll go sawy as soon as you worm him. When I rode the horse, he attempted to buck when asked to canter and was very stubborn and unruly. In response, the young girl who was showing him claimed he had not been ridden in 3 months. And for this they wanted $4,000! I got off and told the girl: "I have three peices of advice: worm him, measure him, and school him. This is NOT a four thousand dollar horse!" I couldn't believe someone would ask that kind of price for a horse and not even bother worming it!
It can be discouraging, but have patience: the right horse is out there.
