Re: [RC] Can I eat that? - Lynne Glazer
Pore RB could not believe that he was asked to do 30 minutes of arena
work with Amy then be forced to hop into a step-up and spend 90
minutes trotting through the riverbed. Only one baby ya-ya head
circle, when we were 50 yards from the "finish line". I was gasping
for breath, with this heat wave it was nearly 100 by 11:30 am. He
did enjoy getting to trot his little brains out through the twisties,
and handled the deep water hole that's not on the NRR course just
fine, examining the bottom through the translucent water as he walked
throgh it. Jim was on his metronome-horse Dillon (they finished 3rd
at NRR last year) who trotted all of the stepovers, but no, we hadda
jump them. It only took 3 swats with a haybag to get his butt back
in the trailer. I'm convinced that he doesn't think he "fits", so we
have to put him in the front stall of Jim's 2 horse slant. With my 4
horse w/ramp he walks right in. Greenies; at least he didn't try to
catch any of the other horses he saw on trail (granted, we did pass
quite a few) but I miss the predictability of the Divine Miss Em.
Who needs the gym, I'm getting my aerobics in on this boy. <pant,
pant>
Braveheart
p.s. he was only permitted ONE cookie on that last ride with you,
then stuck his head down eating it while trotting downhill, to the
accompaniment of his rider's shrieks!
