Hi friends , thanks for all your suggestions about my friend's filly. The latest update is...the foal is doing better. She was very quiet for a time, but now is beginning to whinny again. For the past couple of days, she has gone out to pasture with her dam, and is a little bit playful. Her coat has become very dull. Her scrapes and cuts have healed up some, one knee remains noticably more swollen. The owners have a suspicion now that there may have been a snake bite, as they have found some snakes in the area where the horses are kept. She said that the foal is not as vigorous as the other foal, and has some catching up to do, but it seems as if she is improved. They are still awaiting laboratory test results. Will keep you all posted.
