Ridecamp: Re: [RC] Tevis 'Tired'

I thought that Carl Bruno did start....but his horse did get loose on
Friday evening and may have hurt himself.

I am not on the inside track, but the rumor mill at the fairgrounds
was that Potato's horse was somewhat off in the morning...and would
not be showing for BC.  I did not hear about "not being allowed
to"....

We were camped just above the warm-up arena and watched the horses
get ready to go for BC.  These were awsome horses, sure didn't look
like they had gone 100 of the toughest miles in the west!  The winner
was picked out of the group by my daughter Heather 10 hours prior to
the judging..as he galloped around the stadium at the finish....said
he looked like he was just warming up.....

I did witness Potato and the pushing past at the start.  That in and
of itself was wrong and rude to a fault, but was not dangerous, nor
did it cause a wreck.  BUT TO PUSH THROUGH A CROWD OF 200+ ANXIOUS
ARABS AT THE START OF A VERY IMPORTANT RACE ON A ONE LANE FIRE ROAD
IN THE DARK WAS INCREDIBLY STUPID AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR
WRECK.  You must remember that this is California and he could also
get sued for ANYTHING here......

Just my observations.....YES, I WAS THERE.
