Your reliable source needs updating. Two horses went off the California loop and one died and the other was found the next day and they swam him down the river and got him out and he looked pretty good. The horse that cracked the rib and they thought might have punctured a lung did have a cracked rib but they walked it out and the lung was fine. I talked to that rider and she was pretty beat up and hobbling but okay.
There were a ton of wrecks and rider and horse injuries but the one horse is the only one that died....mb
