Wire on the Little S shank.

You can replace that wire with a piece of rawhide (like

a rawhide shoelace).  I think that wire, which alot of hackamores

come with to hold the shanks together is dangerous.

  I use a Beetle hackamore, which is similar on 2 of my horses

and I replaced that wire with rawhide, and then attached that to

the curb strap with a little ring, which keeps it from coming anywhere

near the lower lip.
