      Yes, what you say is absolutely correct. 
      RM's can make a ride a success or make it a non-success.
      This years BIG HORN RIDES were  a success due to RM's proactive involvement in basecamp location, water tank placement, vets and support staff provided, and extremely effective trail markings (including Keith Collins' blinking red lights at night).
       Now, if they could just have kept the temperature below 108 degrees  :^)
