[RC] lame horse (one more thing) - Sundaez
When is a horse considered "sold"? I sold this horse (in previous post) but
was waiting till he passed his vet check before I received payment. He was at
her facility for 2 weeks. He was not lame when he left my house...nor was he
lame the first week.
This brings up the "try out" issue. I think if he would have stayed here and
I had more control of his work I would be responsible. As it was I have no
idea what caused his lameness.
Though I will take the horse back if he doesn't get better in a couple weeks,
I am wondering what I would have done had I not sold this horse to someone I
know.
Next time, however, horse must past prepurchase on my property (with their
vet of choice). Once he leaves he's sold. Does this seem harsh? How do you
guys that buy and sell horses do it? (This is one reason why I detest selling
horses)!
