Re: [RC] $3/mile and no food???? - Terry Woolley
Donna,
A good endurance ride provides a basecamp, a well marked course,
sufficient water for the horses, and competent vets. Anything else is
frosting on the cake.
When a person undertakes the responsibility of managing a new ride, and
all the financial liability that goes with that, it is always more prudent
to provide only the basics to make sure there are enough entries to cover
the many costs that most riders are not even aware of. Many ride managers
have started a new ride with too many frills that they lost their shirt and
never have the ride again.
It doesn't matter what the average costs are across the country. Be
grateful that there is a ride to go to. (read the back of your shirt).
