[RC] Hoof systery hole - Paulastk

    Hey everyone,
One of my horses has a wierd little hole at the toe that never goes away. I
thought it was white line disease but the farrier said not. No matter how
much is rasped away it is always there. and I stuck a nail up in it and it
went about an inch!! To my knowledge he has not had an abscess and it is in
both front feet. It usually cracks up about an inch ot an inch and a half ,
but recently farrier rasped it and put these little plates over it so it
wouldn't crack anymore. Well, that was fine until the plates came off and it
started all over again. I have been putting iodine up in the whole just this
week to see if it will help but I'm stumped.
My other horse doesn;t get them and they are both on a trace mineral
    supplement and biotin...
    Help
    Paula
