Always buy the best horse you can find for the money you have to spend.
Poor-quality horses eat just as much as good horses and often cost more
in maintenance. Splints are normal in young horses and will harden and
shrink over time, as long as the horse is not worked when the splints
are still "hot." Check with a farrier for advice on the club
foot/contracted heel.
