OK gang, here's one for the experts: On another list, someone has been
advised to coat her senior citizen's horse's legs with used motor oil as
fly control. She says people also have used diesel fuel on cattle as fly
control "for years". I wouldn't be putting either on my critters, but not
because I have any health knowledge about it. So I want to know if there
are reasons for or against using used motor oil or diesel fuel for fly
control? Would this be harmful to equines? My gut instinct is it would be
toxic but that's not science. It sure would be smelly and ugly!
