I don't know if anyone else has had a chance to
read John Parke's article on the protest filed against Laura Toston. I
think his assessment was beautifully crafted. I used to be an employee
relations advocate. The ability to express your reasoning and to show what
you considered and why it did or did not convince you is an art, not possessed
by a lot of people--even attorneys.
I think we have a very good Protest and Grievance
Committee and, as this protest shows, people like Sheryl Phelps and others who
are willing to speak out to support the best in the sport.
Peer pressure has to be there, but AERC works very
well when it gets the chance.
