Ridecamp: RE: [RC] Completion rate of Masters Series

Well, look at what happened in the Xcountry courses. They
got worse and worse. I think that attracted people to watch
to see who was going to bite the dirt next. Almost like the
race car scene. People watch hoping for a crash to liven
things up.

But then the Endurance horse crash is not all that
spectacular. But people are morbid.

I think it it's your *only* horse, a horse that you
conditioned yourself
you feel the consequences more.  At the very least, you have
to pay for
another and wait for it to be ready to race...*but* if
you've got a groom
standing there with another one already saddled, and people
all over the
place conditioning *that* one's replacements.... I'll say it
again just
to aggravate them. The Olympic committee isn't going to want
to defend
that. Far easier to just sigh, say "this looks like a PR
disaster" and
walk away.
