[RC] REMOVE MY NAME - Rides 2 Far

    > SOMEHOW MY NAME WAS ADDED TO YOUR MAILING LIST AND I AM BEING NOT A
    FAN! REMOVE! REMOVE!
    > REMOVE!

I'm responding to the list so others will know someone has tried to fix
    this.

    Evalyn,
The list went down and automatically restarted with an old mailing list,
thus somehow you became a subscriber. Though it's not quite kosher, I
didn't think you'd mind for me to log on and unsubscribe you since our
list manager is off to a ride. I also took the liberty of switching your
subscription, if it should be reactivated to "post only" so that you
would not receive any mail. If it didn't work for any reason, log onto
www.endurance.net and click on "ridecamp", then go to account.

I'm sorry you seemed to have been hit by our list at a very bad time.
Don't know what's in the water but there's been more inflamatory posts
than I've seen in a long time. I think any discipline can drum up some
pretty awful sounding accusations and make it sound as if every race
horse is full of ulcers and breaking legs, *every* 3 day eventer is
summersaulting over huge jumps, and *every* dressage horse has incredibly
sore hocks and back muscles and is never taken out of the stall except to
travel in extreme collection in a tiny arena. Very little of that is
    true.

As a horseman you probably realize that the majority of us in all
disciplines are willing to go without things we need to provide for the
    comfort of our horses.

As to the "tired horses being forced to go 50 and 100 miles". Please, if
you haven't experienced this sport, try not to imagine *your* horse going
    100 miles...and I won't try to imagine my little hyperactive 14.2 daisy
clipper Arab trying to jump huge jumps or spend his life in a stall. You
just have to experience the drive to move forward that is bred into the
horses and have one try to run away with you at 85 miles because you
*tried* to slow him down and let your competition go on to understand.
To these horses force inactivity is cruelty. There's a sport for all of
    us. :-)
