Re: [RC] Vets staying after ride - Wintersdwbob1
At the Malibu ride, my vet put in over 20+ liters in 3+ hours plus Calcium
and dextrose based on blood work that was drawn at the time of tie up and run
promptly. She Never lost touch with me nor was out of shouting range. I was
instructed in great detail on what he could eat what to look for and all his
parameters were monitored by her aprox every 45 min while the ride was on.
The cather in his neck was left in until 9 PM and at that point he was
bright eyed and alert. She said only bran mash his watermelon some carrots
and no hay cause none had come out. He had peed normal color and amount.
But she advised me that he needed cont. monitoring thru ut the week. She
gave me info on how to get her ALL night long. At no time did I feel
desperate or abandoned. When she left for the evening Bob was stable and
comfortable. The next morning he was ripping my arm out and pulling me all
over the camp. I still had her number. I called the Office on Monday,AM the
girls there were already apprised of my and Bob and ready to fax info to my
Vet. She was there for me and BOB THE WHOLE TIME. If a horse was not stable
and the vet left I would feel differently. Donna and BOB
