    I'd be interested to know what people have to say about this. I think it's just a personality thing. My horse does this same thing, bored and lazy at home... happy, perky and full of energy at endurance rides. I think for him, he gets bored of the same old trails. When we get out onto some new ones, he acts much better and more perky (usually). He does get lazy at endurance rides if we are by ourselves for a long time tho'.... again, maybe a boredom thing? But, he's NEVER lazy on the way HOME!
