There was the controversy in the LD about that lady with the kids
from the riding school again. Apparently they were observed cutting trail
twice, once a small bit and once significant. One of her juniors was 1/2
mile from the sponsor and didn't know where her sponsor was. She was
encouraged to find her and the kid ended up winning the LD and BCing. All
the kids/sponsor finished 1-5 with quite a bit of time between them and the
next rider which gives credence to the trail cut. The kid's parents were
clapping and cheering at the awards and no one else was. I just love
someone who teaches kids that to cheat is to win. Maybe they got the AREC
motto screwed up!
Seeing this ceeper continue to be allowed to even ATTEND rides let alone conduct children through them is just appalling to me. Having witnessed (because one of her juniors slammed into MY Daughter at Hog Wild in her quest to catch up to her "sponsor") AND several seasons ago - having this broad deliiberately take her FOOT OUT OF HER STIRRUP and KICK my little daughter's horse to get her out of her way on a controlled start - well, I just continue to think - WHAT THE HE*& IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE????? We teach a handful of students here - mainly youngsters, at times new or frightened adults. I would nto DARE to take most of the, to a ride where this woman and ehr entourage might be, because it is profoundly humiliating to have to do with this kind of experience for both me and my students. We did not make it to Malibu - and I am incredibly disappointed and angered that she is still out there doi
ng this.
Barb, what the heck happened that you know of? It appears that an automatic suspension is in order. Some people never learn and must then be excluded from activities where they are misfits. This woman and her crowd are msifits - at least if the endurance crowd is what we have believed it to be all tehse years - one of integrity, caring for the horse FIRST (Boyd??) and for others second - and that "to finish is to win". I am just shaking my head.
