Re: [RC] Helmets - Lif Strand
Quoted from Truman Prevatt's message:
If the AERC insurance carrier took the stand that helmets should be
required or else they would not cover an accident involving a non-helmeted
rider, then I don't see that the AERC has a choice
Since we don't get our ride insurance from AERC and since Ride Managers
pick the insurance carriers for their rides, why should AERC have any say
about the helmets anyway?
No one addresses the whole issue: Where does it stop? What is this magic
thing about helmets anyway? Are there *really* so many more
insurance/medical claims and/or deaths from endurance riding head injuries
than any other endurance riding injury or is it just that the helmet issue
is an easy one to address?
