Isn't it sad that's so true? And that almost everyone seems to have some
experience with this sort of thing. Two years ago, David and I were hauling
a horse south and got caught in a snowstorm. We decided to turn back and
got stuck making the turn. Our trailer was mostly on the shoulder, with
maybe 2 feet tops onto the road itself. The road conditions were getting
pretty bad and someone came zooming around the bend way too fast with an
overloaded truck, lost control because of the conditions and rear-ended a
corner of the trailer. Our insurance company just paid up for our "causing"
the accident because it was cheaper than fighting a piddley case against
some bozo with a lawyer working on contingency. But then we're the one with
an accident on our records.
You're right, Angie. It's all just a betting game.
